For the second game in a row, the Colorado Avalanche used a late third-period goal
to get to overtime before putting away the Dallas Stars.

"It's a huge win for us," captain Joe Sakic said. "(Being ahead) 3-0 is obviously a lot
different than 2-1 so, hopefully, we can find a way to keep this going. They're too
good of a team; you don't want to give them any life."

"It was close, but it hit the defenseman's skate and went in," he said.
"But you know what? This team's all about winning. Nobody cares who's
scoring as long as we win."

Only two teams in NHL history have won a series after losing the
first three games: the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs and 1975 New York Islanders.

"I know the odds are against us, but the focus is about what this
group can accomplish, and the belief that we have in ourselves," Turco said.

"It's not over. They won three straight. No reason why we can't."

"We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves," said Turco, who has allowed
32 goals in the past eight playoff games against the Avalanche.

"We're going to put everything on the line Friday. It's going to be an effort
that's unparalleled to anything this year. Our backs are against the wall,
and that's when teams are desperate."

"The power play has to be the key," defenseman Rob Blake said.
"You look around the league and see the penalties that are being called,
you have to take advantage of the opportunities."

"Special teams are huge, and that's the new NHL, and I like it," forward Ian Laperriere said.
"They said before the playoffs they were going to call everything, and
they're doing it. It's great. You get more goals, and in the last minute of the game,
we had a power play to tie it up. You would have never seen that in the past."

Brenden Morrow took the blame for Dallas' latest playoff loss, a heartbreaker in
overtime that put the Colorado Avalanche on the verge of a shocking sweep of the Stars.

He was in the penalty box for tripping when Andrew Brunette scored the tying goal with
56 seconds left in regulation, and Colorado won 4-3 on Alex Tanguay's
goal 1:09 in overtime Wednesday night.

"I take responsibility," Morrow said. "I saw how they were calling it tight the
first two games. I should have known better by now. I let my teammates down."

"It's the way it's been for us in the series. The bounces haven't gone our way,"
Dallas goaltender Marty Turco said. "We have to find a way to win Game 4"
Friday night in Denver.

"It was a huge game for us," Tanguay said.
"We were very lucky to pull it out. For us, it's all about
what we do in here (the dressing room). We know our
strengths and weaknesses. In order for us to be successful,
we have to be skating. You saw that late in the third period
and early in overtime. When we're skating, we're creating
chances and that's when we're successful."

Brett Clark and his fellow blue-liners are on a mission.
"We have a very active defense, and it is tough for teams because they have to
respect our forwards a lot," Clark said. "You give them a chance, they are going
to score. And with the 'D' jumping in, it makes it a lot harder for them."
