July 2, 2004:
excerpt from the Rocky Mtn News
Don't look for Cummins or Selanne to return to the Avalanche, and Nikolishin
reportedly has signed with the Central Red Army team to play in his native Russia.

Moore's future in hockey is uncertain as he recovers from injuries suffered in March
when he was attacked by Vancouver's Todd Bertuzzi.

The most prominent Avalanche players who became restricted free agents: goalie
David Aebischer and forwards Peter Forsberg, Riku Hahl, Milan Hejduk, Dan Hinote and Alex Tanguay.

If a team were to make an offer to any of the Avalanche's restricted free agents,
Colorado would have the right to match or could accept draft picks as compensation.
